So I have been looking for a chinese restaurant soup recipe, but have not found one that actually matches the hole in the wall ones I order it from. How do they make their broth? How is it so yellow?
Any references, information or recipes you can provide would be great.

idk about chinese noodles but when i was looking at a sign for japanese noodle shop it gave an option on oil. so when i next made ramen I added extra chicken stock, and a bit of japanese sesame oil, and red pepper flake. very good

You can try to make it in home:
To large pot filled with cold water, add few types of meat (at least 3, chicken legs are awesome, generally you want something with bone and only some meat, small amount of fat), veggies (carrot, celery root, whole onion caramelized in flame, parsley, cabbage, leek etc.). As for seasoning lots of lovage and maybe salt.
Let it simmer for about 4 hours or more, serve with noodles or potatoes if you are freak.
