i never noticed a change to my pee color from beet. One time i accidentally took my girlfriends's urinary track infection pills and pee'd like neon orange and thought i had cancer.

what does borsch taste like? I love beetroots and I know you can make this with them and another dish called Ukrainian Beet Leaf Rolls Stuffed With Bread, or beetniks for short. I want to try making borsch but I don't know if i'll like it.

If you haven't pee'd blood, you have no right to criticize anyone for their drinking.

The distinct taste of the beets gets a bit subdued but it keeps a lot of sweetness from them and the carrots. The exact taste will vary depending on which regional variation you go with. Beets, carrots, onions, and garlic are the basic ingredients, and the variations I've seen can include potatoes, beans, radishes, turnips, and meat.
Typically it will be served with a heaping spoonful of sour cream or plain yogurt on it, and generously garnished with dill weed. Dark rye with an ungodly amount of butter on it is common to be served with it.

This sounds delicious. Especially the potatoe, bean radish variant. I'll definitely be giving this a try, thanks.

Polish Borscht is sour and a bit sweet, usually with lots of garlic, pepper and herbs
it's pretty intense, which is why you need something meaty to go along with it - usually dumplings with meat or mushrooms, but a bun stuffed with meat / mushrooms also a popular choice

Dude I always make that much on purpose, freeze or can it or give some away. Reduce some down in a frying pan till the broth is gone and top an omelette with it, that's a good way to mix it up a bit so you don't get too bored.
