What sloppa is your country best known for?

For me, it's the egg gravy on toast. Creamy gravy made from beef stock, egg, and bacon with some other leftover fixings. Put it on toast and it's like mama used to make! :)

This guy is my slopa of choice. It's called "Breton style beans" (fasolka po bretońsku). It's very barbaric and simplified version of casoulet, that might be the reason why it's called like this. Contains beans, bacon-ish cut of meat (boczek), kiełbasa sometimes some ham, and tomatos (concentrated).

It isn't. Sawmill gravy doesn't use stock, egg, and uses sausage far more often than bacon.

>>14859362
Ding ding ding, thank you for not lumping any cream gravy together like nearly everyone else. The civilian version is usually called "chipped beef gravy."

I'm from the Rockies in the US, we're sort of on a border. To the west and south, our sloppa is "funeral potatoes." It's a Mormon thing mostly, it's scalloped potatoes with cream and cheese but can be sliced potatoes or grated (think hashbrowns). East of us, and you start getting into hotdish territory. Sloppy joes, chili dogs, garbage plates, and carne asada fries are all regional sloppas that would qualify as well.

To each their own. But that squeeking is actually a sign of half decent curds.

Having said that, if it was squeeking on poutine, then something wasn't hot enough. The curd should melt a little and no longer squeek.

Also it's served on fries with gravy. Deep frying the cheese would add a lot of hassle for not much gain taste wise. However poutine is kinda like pizza, the "neopolitan" is good curd good gravy good fries but eat whatever the fuck you want on it cooked however the shit you like.
