Probably. But it wouldn't be pleasant.

What are you usually buying and how much are paying?
You'd have to be extremely retarded or on a very specific diet to even entertain the notion that a hundred bucks is somehow not enough money to spend on food.

i did this when i worked in a restaurant and could eat for free there and then just spent most of my money on booze like a fucking degenerate. buy beans and rice and chicken breast and onions and carrots and celery and you literally throw it all in a bowl with free hot sauce from taco bell or whatever and make "jambalaya" for a week for like $15 then you just eat that.

Assuming you can afford to splurge on buying some spices at some point, I think it's well within the realm of possibility for 1 person. Won't have a lot of variety unless you go hardcore couponing and making trips to a store just for 1 item that's on sale.

Absolutely. Calorie wise without going insane from lack of flavor on about 90 USD.

I went between Mexican breakfasts and discount cereals. Milk, eggs, refried beans, tinned salsa, rice, tubed chorizo (90c and insane calorie), lettuce (for sanity), bulk cereal, breads of choice, garlic, hot peppers.

Buy generic, eat high calorie meals, and you'll survive.

Last few months i have done all cooking and when i summed it up we burn around 400$ per month on average so 200$ per person.

When my gf did the cooking food expenses per month were 600-800$ and sometimes higher (we include fastfood and candy into the balance) :D

I think if i really squeeze the last out of it we can maybe push it down to 300$ a month or 150$ per person.

But if anyone has any good info please share, i want to buy more "toys" and less food :D

It doesn't even matter if it's honest if they're adding to the number we have every day. If someone has dietary constraints, that would be one thing, but none of them do. The honest ones are profoundly lazy, fuck them.

Bulk dry beans/rice, flour, sugar, chicken leg quarters, frozen mixed vegetables, lard, and some seasonings. You could make all sorts of shit with that and it probably wouldn't even reach $100/month.

? Of course. If this is immediate it will be difficult at first. If you're self imposing its easy. Save money and spend 400ish on spices, vinegar, dry herbs, oils, flour, sugar, beans, rice etc etc etc. You'll need to replace all of this bit by bit as used but that's a long time. Establish what meals you like and make them in bulk. My soup month costed me $70 in product for 16 qt split between two soups. I'm not poor or anything, I just do it because I'm a simple guy that likes to save money and is ok with eating the same thing 2 weeks at a time.
My go to meals are burritos, veggie sandwiches, soups of course, shepards pie, pasta sauces then I make my own pasta, lasagna, fried rice and stir fries. Shits really easy if you don't go out to eat and learn where stuff is cheapest

Chili is cheap, easy to make, you can freeze it, eat it solo or with rice or cornbread, and you can easily adapt the chili to suit your tastes.

Buy a big bag of rice.

Eggs, bananas, bread are cheap. I like peanut butter banana sandwiches.

Tea and coffee are cheap.

Look for meat that are close to the sell by date as they are discounted, even if they are on sale. Freeze it.

>> No.14851798

Rice, beans, discount meats and instant coffee to suppress your appetite.

>> No.14852108

Definitely doable, just have some spices on the side. Eggs, beans, potatoes/rice, some greens, stock up on cheap/discounted meat and freeze what you arent going to use immediately. Soups and chilis are great and give several meals. Chicken thighs are relatively cheap around where I live so I use those for a few different meals

I work at domino's and just eat/take home all the cancelled orders. You can literally work there 8 hours a week if you're willing to have your car smell like buffalo wing sauce. If I'm super poor I eat two tablespoons of out of a huge tub of great value peanut butter. Anything with the WIC logo with the exception of cheerios is usually pretty cheap and healthy too. My personal favorites being frozen brussel sprouts and frozen kale at 99 cents each.

yes but itd be boring
i lived off more or less 100 a month and change it up each month
>rice and beans in bulk
>heaps of frozen/fresh/canned veggies (whatever is cheapest where you are)
>potato's
>cheap meat (id normally go with minced beef)
>Oats
this was normally enough to last me a month. every meal was the same and boring. oats for breakfast. beans and salad for lunch, rice veggies and meat for dinner. it gets very boring. but do-able.
Ausfag btw, so Americans should easily be able to pull 100$ a Month off
