14829784 No.14829784 [Reply] [Original]

Whenever I'm at a social gathering where food is the main interest, I get very confused or amazed stares when I say I have no allergies. I can eat fucking anything and nothing will happen to me. Peanuts, spicy food, seafood, all sorts of dairy....the common allergies do nothing against me, and I've eaten some pretty ghetto things when I was little.

What gives? Am I rare or common? No allergy gang where you at?

I'm highly allergic to white people having children.

It's appalling, and climate terrorism.

None, but I fake a crustacean allergy because I don't want to be rude and tell people the reason I don't eat them is because they're bugs.

No allergies. Seems to run in my bloodline, I don't think my parents or grandparents from either side are allergic to anything. Definitely no foods. Girlfriend/her immediate family is the same I think though idk about medications.

I don't think it's uncommon, but nor is it common I guess since I have plenty of friends with weak-ass bloodlines allergic to nuts and wheat and the goddamn blowing wind. Sucks to suck I guess.

Is it because we ate dirt as kids? Seems the people that grew up in sanitary little bubbles have worse immunity to shit, including developing allergies, than those of us who didn't give a shit about getting dirty until our 20s.

As a kid, yeah I did all the traditional kid shit. Played in dirt, the sand, played a lot of casual soccer. Picked plants and flowers, did a bit of gardening, collected bugs etc. I don't know if this is related but my dad worked at this supermarket that had an extremely ghetto-ass bakery. As in there were flies landing on the bread occassionally.

We'd always get a discount since my dad was an employee and the bread was always oil covered and had terrible texture. I ate them for years and one time my brother invited his friend, we shared some of this "bread" and the friend immediately threw up and said he'd never eat bread at that bakery again.

Zero allergies as well. I think it may legit because I was poor growing up, so my siblings and I spent a lot of time playing outside. The only allergy in my entire family I can think of is my sisters allergy to amoxicillin.

I have a minor allergy to two trees, but literally like maybe I'll get some slight sniffles if there's a ton of pollen in the air, or take off my shirt and rub my back on one.

People are surprised, but never care too much.

We grew up poor. Not sad poor but definitely not "trophy wife's a homemaker and the house is always spotless when the maid leaves" levels of disposable income. We had dogs and cats, pretty much impossible to keep a house properly clean. Having fun meant playing outside in the forest. Food was often whatever was cheap, not whatever looked best. Cooking practises of mother make we wonder how we didn't get tapeworms and salmonella every week.

27. No allergies or health issues yet. I've never even had the flu. Worst I ever get is a cold and I usually catch it from the gf living with me. This is not an exact formula for health, obviously, but in my limited inquiries it seems to be a trend. People with "more healthy" childhoods seem to have a rough go of adulthood health wise. Sick more often, "intolerant" to things, athsma, etc etc.

allergies are more than wheezing to death, anaphylaxis reactions can include diarrhea, extreme lethargy, and all sorts of other symptoms. for example, i developed an allergy to apples and now my intestines shred themselves if i eat more than 80 grams of apple. other high FODMAP foods do not have this effect on my intestines.

None that I know of anymore. I had two when I was a little kid, kitty stuff, it used to be called dander but it's really some protein that they lick themselves with, no more,
The other one was weird and had to do with cheap news print. I'd read a newspaper then maybe put my hand with the newsprint on my face and I'd break out a bit. I don't know if that was an allergy or not and it wasn't from all newspapers. None of these things bother me anymore, maybe it had to do with puberty.

I work in a hospital, and there is a crazy high number of people that have real severe food allergies (like they only bring in their own food, and refuse to eat pot lucks, or out at restaurants), and also a crazy amount that have severely autistic children (like, unable to function without constant supervision). Shit has me terrified, I'm fairly fresh out of school. Like there has to be some fucked up shit we're going to find out about in 10-20 years that'll be the new MESOTHELIOMA shit on every commercial. I dunno if it's the massive storage of formalin or some kind of /x/ level kill the sick drains on society gas pumped through the vents, or something else.

I'm pretty sure I have no allergies but there are a few foods which make my throat a bit scratchy like if I eat an entire bag of carrots. Watermelon used to make my throat a bit scratchy when I was a kid but it doesn't anymore. One time it happened really bad when I ate some precut celery I bought from target but it has never happened with celery otherwise.

Of course I have no allergies but are you telling me you can be allergic to soy that would actually be quite beneficial so vegetarians/vegans can stop trying to get one to eat soybased stuff that attempts to look like or are named similar to real meat shouldn't be hard to get that as a proper diagnose if one were to really want to take it that far but in all seriousness are people really that allergic for real or is it a new faggy way of trying not to eat stuff (except for those that get anafylactic shock which is the main reason for why I like to eat peanuts and strawberrys in public, well you didn't want me to smoke did ya you fucks)

Fun fact adding Kiwi or as you mentioned other fruits with that enzyme to meats like in a marinade sure makes them real tender if you let them soak in it for a day or so but it is also illegal to use it in food that you sell in Europe so the enzyme itself is actually pretty hard to come by (if not counting the internet that is) but it does do wonders as it starts or more like speeds up the "rottening process"
