I never put my 5 dozen egg package in the fridge. Its been 3 days. Is it safe to eat do you think? Won't grilling them kill the fuck out of the diseases that grew in them?

>> No.14824865

yeah maybe just make a ton of hard boiled eggs try a little and if you don't get sick go ahead and pickle them or something

Explain yourself!

You need to refrigerate eggs if they've been washed. They have a slime coating which keeps bacteria out and keeps the insides sterile; but once you wash the eggs the shell becomes permeable to bacteria and they will spoil if they're not kept refrigerated. Americans are too stupid to be trusted with unwashed eggs, so they get washed at the factory; and that's why Americans must keep their eggs in the fridge.

In reality, only about 1 in 30,000 eggs contains salmonella bacteria. Yes, even in the US.
Eggs instead usually rot and turn rancid by other factors. The gases released released when an egg rots are a good indicator of whether they've gone bad. You can still cook and eat a rotten egg, but it'll taste terribly.

I would throw them out and use it as a $7 lesson in being more careful.

They're fine. Even washed eggs last about 3 weeks at a room temperature of 70º F.

everybody should keep their eggs in the fridge. In Europe eggs are unwashed so we don't refrigerate them because the eggs are more resistent and there's the problem that if you refrigerate them there's the risk that between transport condensation will occur and damage the eggs. That said once home is better to refrigerate them because it will keep them good for longer

My fridge has a little egg holder in it so that's where I put them. Yes I'm a gay euro fag obviously.
