That anon is right, school admin like principals don't do anything useful and take a huge amount of the already massive budget allocated to public schools. You don't need more than one per school and maybe a dozen in the district offices but in some cities, there are as many as there are teachers, all doing... something and making just as much, if not more, than a teacher with decades of experience. This is in California of course. I don't know about other states. It's a shit hole here in every way possible. Also, teachers get paid too much as well. I would know, my mom is one and barely works. She'd like to do more but she gets in trouble for deviating in any way from the mandated curriculum. She's an English teacher and only uses a SINGLE book in a year, making way too much money for essentially babysitting.

The solution is to end public schooling, yet private schools aren't much better. Homeschooling is the way but it will never happen because it's too radical a change and would require mass adoption of stay-at-home parenting, which would change our economy and job culture. The transition would be a nightmare but there's no better time than now during a pandemic.
