Emeril and Iron Chef were the only two reasons Food Network got as much recognition as it did in the late 90s. Good Eats was great and helped to accelerate the network's popularity - before Alton became a colossal faggot - and even Guy's Big Triple D's was a comfy show that aided in the network's brand. Chopped itself wasn't even that bad, but the show's format became a weathered template for future soulless cooking competitions.
