For me, it's Texaroni. The best pasta shape. It's in the shape of the best state, Texas, and it's fun and delicious. Small enough to cook quickly and work with a lot of dishes, but also big enough that it has a great texture and overall feel to it.

It's just an altered rotelle, but the shape really is good for something like mac and cheese where the cheese sauce gets into each hole. Can't really find this shape all the time though and it's more expensive than others.

I like angel hair for almost anything else though, unless it's going to have pieces of chicken or vegetables then I like penne. Angel hair has a nice texture when it gets perfectly wrapped around the fork into a nest for each bite.
