I had no idea Red Lobster was so expensive. What the fuck for? Even if you just get steaks or something the bill is always over a hundred dollars

i spent like $1000 on an anniversary dinner with my girlfriend. 13 courses and a couple bottles of wine. i told her it was like $200/head so she gave me 200 but that was just for the tip. she freaked out later when she found the actual receipt.
last week we both spent like $325ish each on sushi.

I got invited to a sushi place by the bartender who was also the owner's son or cousin or something. He comped my drinks and appetizers and the bill still came out to about $200.

TB anon here. I've eaten at The French Laundry, though I wasn't the one paying. Most I've ever paid (for 2 people) was probably only a little over $300.

Is it worth the hype? I'm thinking about trying to get a reservation for my 10 year anniversary.

>> No.14778703

Yes, it was very good. They take reservations 3 months in advance, and to get a specific date you basically have to start calling the minute they open - 3 months in advance - and hope you get through, kind of like calling into a radio show contest. It's definitely a special occasion kind of thing, but for the money I'd rather get a hotel nearby and make a night out of it than fly to some generic beach resort a couple nights.
