Kraut here. Bought me some taco shells and made some good shit to stuff inside. But yeah, the shell exploded after taking the first bite. Am I doing something wrong? Do I need so soak them in oil or something?!

those are basically just pre-fried corn tortillas. can you get your hands on regular corn tortillas? if so, you just toast them briefly in a pan before filling and/or use two.

oil when toasting the regular tortillas is optional. you could additionally microwave them in a damp cloth for a similar effect

You don't know how to eat, period. Same with people who can't figure out wings and ribs or tall sandwiches.

Yeah, crunchy tacos are shit. Soft tacos are the way to go.

Bro, it just shattered. I'm buying regular tortillas next time. Cost me a fortune too.

Will do. Thanks. Was slightly disappointing.

What you can do is put a 1/4 layer of oil, and shallow fry the shell into that shape. It's alot easier if you get a tool to specify shape the tortilla into a shell, pic related. Honestly deep fried shells are way better for shitty Tex Mex ground beef tacos. Roasting a corn tortilla is better for authentic tacos with carne asada/carnitas or w/e

Nope. These taco shells are complete shit and always shatter after a bite or two. I have no idea why people like them.

Yeah it be like that if you dont toast your own. But dont waste them if you have more, crack them up yourself and mix with the taco meat and eat with a spoon. You get crunch but you dont make a mess.

Next time get soft tortillas doe.

Your suppost to scoop the contents in the shell into your mouth. The shell is a handy way to hold it up to your mouth it isnt ment to be eaten.

this is stupid but also genius. you could break up the shells and use them to scoop the fillings up like a dip. if you're gonna do this, i'd just get chips however.

if i were in OP's situation, i might do just that. those shells are not my friend. soft corn or flour every day of the week

you could also do it over rice

You want to make them yourself.
>Acquire soft tortilla shell (corn or flower doesn't matter.)
>Hot pan, oil (preferably homemade chili oil) in. (Oil should not be smoking.)
>Filling goes in the shell add toppings. (Heat sensitive sour cream should not be inside the taco.)
>Drop in the pan. (Do not walk away.)Pay attention. This will burn quickly if the heat's too high. Flip as necessary. Add more (chili) oil as necessary.
>Pull, allow to cool and enjoy.
These are addicting when made correctly. Consider yourself warned, Kraut.

Did you warm them first? It helps a *little* bit.

That being said, they're worthless unless you make a double decker taco. Buy the shells and some tortillas. Fill the shell as usual, then spread some refried beans on the tortilla, put the shell in the middle and fold the tortilla up the sides. You get the crunch of the shell and no mess.

Put some cheese in each shell before baking them. The cheese will melt and act as glue holding the shell together when you bite into it.

the trick is you have to not be a bitch and shove half of the taco in your mouth and chomp down

That's called Taco Salad, retard. Add beans and nacho cheese you essentially get nachos supreme.

Always get soft corn tortillas for tacos. Hard shell tacos are for shitty fly over mexican food

Also I don't think Germany would sell them, but if you can find uncooked flour/corn tortillas in the refrigerated section, those are best. The premade, precooked tortillas always have a weird taste to them
