I tried both of them unsalted because I wanted to actually see if there was a difference in the quality of the butter itself and not the seasoning. There is none, you can always add more salt and flavorings making a compound spread.

I figure it's about the cost of cheese. If you want a specific item where the butter plays a real important role, say jambon et beurre or cucumber sandwiches or even just really good toast, then yeah it's worth it. Then just use the cheap butter for shit where you want a lot of fat. Baking, etc.
