So what's happening is that some meat packing plants are closing because they're in cities and would honestly be like the #1 disease vector (granted, American food regulations are so strict I doubt it'd be an issue).

I have also seen a few guys like you when visiting family in indiana (selling like 5 pounds of frozen steak for like 25 bucks) at a gas station.

Another big thing is that despite lots of restaurants closing, it turns out that many grocery stores over-order to such an extent (and throw so much shit away) that they were fine. And large grocery chains, even if they do run out don't want to pick up a contract with a 2nd meat company or expand theirs temporarily because that'd be a pain in the ass.

So we ended up with overly expensive meat for a few months followed by animal farmers getting fucked (like you), and it really sucks.

The moral of the story is the best place to do your shopping is the dumpster.
