Why do all pizza recipes on the internet never ask you to season the dough directly?

I'll give a you a quick answer anon. It's because the topping are usually overwhelming. The dough is just something that add more satisfaction in every bite.

If you are making a plain cheese pizza then you can add some garlic powder or herbs to it, but again you can always do roasted garlic as a topping or make a garlic butter dipping sauce for the crust.

Waste of time is I guess the short answer.

Because majority of people make some shit ass dough and don't give it the care it deserves and that's why they see dough as secondary. A good pizza is dependant on a good dough, toppings are always secondary. Dough and the sauce are the things that matter the most, but people rather mask the shit tier dough with dumping a ton of overwhelming toppings on it.

Because too much salt fucks with yeast growth.

Go ahead and experiment. Share the results.
I want to know about "seasoned dough", maybe it'll become a thing.
