I recently discovered homemade oatmeal bars and have come to the realization that buying those store bought ones are the biggest jewy scam anyone can ever fall for. You spend half the money and make double the amount by making them at home.

Since I never made them before I just did..

2 cup oats
1/4 cup honey
1 cup crunchy peanut butter
some crushed almonds
some dried blueberries
some vanilla extract

Dumb simple and way better than store shit.

It's a no bake recipe. Just mix all that junk together for a few minutes, refrigerate until solid then cut in to pieces.

Depends on if you consider a 1/4 cup of honey or oats as healthy.

>> No.14658960

2/3 cup honey (or honey + maple syrup)
2/3 cup coconut oil
2/3 cup crunchy PB

Mix wet first then mix with

2 1/4 cup oats

Add chia chocolate chips coconut flakes hempseed nuts pumpkins seeds

Spread in glass pan and freeze or fridge it so the coconut oil hardens and tightens it

Whats a good ratio of oats/syrup/peanut butter?

>> No.14662872

>>14662807

I see a lot of people do 1:0.25:1 oat/syrup/pb. There's really no exact recipe to it, you're looking for a certain texture. When you mix everything together, when squeezed in your hand it should form a solid shape and not fall apart.

Raw all natural honey is good for you and the body processes it different than the fake shit made from rice sugar syrup. It actually metabolizes slowly and supports the liver Oats are extremely good for you. High in fiber which keeps you full longer and they have something that supports the production of brain chemicals that make you fall asleep.

Sounds great to me

>raw honey for natural sugar that isn't bad for you in small amounts
>steel cut oats which are healthier for some reason I forget. High in fiber and aids weight loss
>peanuts with high protein and omega 3 and 6 fats in equal amounts
>almonds which aid weight loss
>blue berries which are a powerful Antioxidant

I'd probably add a few table spoons of chia seeds for more fiber and omega 3 fat, protein powder for more protein, and unsweetened dark bakers chocolate for magnesium and zinc.
