The stupid one revamped a few years ago with vertical lines was completely worthless. This one should give people a clue how many "food exchanges" of each of the food groups make sense, but it's up to you to figure out the portions, but at least the blocks give you a big idea that the most is the bottom group. If you follow the guidance from this, you should get adequate nutrition. Probably no rickets, goiters, bow legs, leg braces, constipation, in utero fucked up teeth or spina bifada, and other issues of the past from ignorance of the food groups and nutrition. There will still be people who eat only meat and starchy veggies and zero veggies on top of a burger.
