I tried making sauerkraut once, it did ferment okay, didn't develop any mold, but the liquid was clear and sort of alkaline...the consistency of sugar syrup. So I threw it all out.

True. What is your opinion on Kielbasa cooked in the kraut with a little caraway seed? Used to eat that with some dark bread and mustard.

That’s one of my go-to dinners my cracka. And nothing wrong with hotdogs in kraut either but for a potluck you should dress it up a bit

Ah! ok. I was worried you were busting his balls for eating kraut with dogs, which is the absolute best way to eat a hotdog. I am with you though, for a potluck he should have gone with something more substantial.

Chop up several cups of fried bacon and throw it in.

I worked in the German parts of the US for a long time and brats n’ kraut in the slow cooker is go to potluck food. And I don’t like to judge how people eat on here, I eat poverty style most of the time so I can splurge with family and friends.

>> No.14642086

i love sauerkraut and sausages, but hot dog sausages are pretty weak. i would've went with real, big sausages for a nicer meal
