Can someone explain to me the point of buffalo milk mozzarella. I like mozzarella cheese and the other day I wanted to make a salad caprese for myself. I decided to try the buffalo since I haven't before and heard so much about it. People usually complain that mozzarella don't taste anything, and this literally don't. Also it was so watery it tasted just like that. Moist and nothing. Is it supposed to be like that? I'll just stick with the cow milk 'rella from now on unless I get it in some italian resurant

Are you in the USA? I haven’t been able to get good tasting mozzarella cheese from the grocery store in years. It was definitely easier in CT to find quality, good tasting mozzarella whether buffalo milk or not. I haven’t tried Whole Foods and theirs is probably good, but what I got from Sprouts recently was the WORST mozzarella I’ve ever eating. And that’s a special trip. Otherwise I can choose from Ingles, Food Lion, and Walmart and preciously it was Avon’s, Smiths and Albertsons. At the latter I could at least find stuff I was willing to eat but at the former it’s just a no go in my area (very small town so we probably don’t get the same goodies as big towns and cities). Even the stuff touted as Buffalo milk mozzarella ranges from meh to disgusting unless you have a legitimate supplier near you.

Oh so the cheese.
I often make a side salad with thinly sliced white onion, fresh basil, fresh tomatoes and balsamic, good olive oil and vinegar.
You can have the salad on toast or on wafers as a canape.
Of course you use the cheese on pizza, mozzarella is for plebs.

Sometimes I make bahn mi with mozzarella in place of chicken or tofu.
Depending on how strong the flavour is most white cheese can be used in this way
