What are your feelings on breadsticks?

Most aren't that good and are just a cashgrab considering how cheap bread is to make, margin wise.

Garlic cheese bread >>>> breadsticks. There's a mom and pop joint in the town I live in that splits and quarters a whole french bread, slathers it in garlic butter, then tops it with cheese and herbs and toasts it in the oven. It shits on literally every chain restaurant's breadsticks or cheese bread offering.

This. It's just a swipe of the rotary cutter on pizza dough and into the oven. They tend to be very hard oon the ends, no great flavors or textures.

Knots > sticks. It's more labor intensive though, a shape forming twisting step and a second rise, and they need to douse them in real olive oil and fresh garlic and parsley, sea salt, and maybe some real cheese.

Prefer pic related (baguette with garlicbutter then put on the grill or in the oven)
'cause most breadsticks around here are just cheap, tasteless and dry/crunchy (Italian style?)
but when you come across great breadsticks then I sure like 'em, just stick to the
garlic baguette because it's safer they are pretty much always great. Even the cheap frozen ones

Cheap frozen garlic bread has nasty margarine oily flavors, and pickled pasteurized garlic flavors both. So, no, it's not "great" at all.

You cant really scoop or put shit on them. They also can't absorb sauce or oil as well as just regular bread. They're kind of shit.

Compared to the those thin crunchy cheap tasteless breadsticks á la Italy
then yes they are truly great but of course there are a lot of different quality
when it comea to frozen and I recommend just making your own

Gotta have cheese with them. Only way it makes sense.
