Ah I'd love to, but don't own a smoker, I wonder if you can get a cheap one somewhere? All you really need is the wood shavings I could just do a DIY steel bucket next time I catch some

Fry it and pour tartar sauce on it.
It is important to sprinkle a bit of salt first let the moisture come out before washing.

Its from the 80's, owned by father's best friend who's last conversation with me mentioned that he was going to retire and start up fly fishing, he passed away suddenly a few weeks later, when I was asked to help clear his house (he had no family) I noticed this great big old opinel and wondered if it's what he'd use himself, so I took it for my own and cleaned it up spent hours sharpening it use it for fish cleaning only, I hope his spirit isn't too mad at me for taking it.

yeah, keep the integrity of the fresh fish for sure, if you're not familiar with mackerel its probably the best way to familiarize yourself with it. just make sure you gut it well and take out the bloodline -- you look like you know what you're doing. looks beautiful too

The ones from the toxic waste pool have less parasites. Healthy ecosystems have parasites. Deal with it.
