You live in an apartment, right? I don't think it's up to code in houses. There's no way I could go back to that crap. You end up smoking up the whole house cooking anything but eggs. When I last lived in an apartment the microwave above the stove had a fan that blew the air through a filter to *attempt* to remove some of the particulates, but it was useless. I ended up just opening the windows and cracking the door when I cooked steak.

pleasant looking enough design kitchen. GIS says it's either masterbrand or arcadia. not a fan of the fridge being so far away from the range/counter. gonna suck whenever you're cooking and you forget an ingredient and have to shlep however far away it is to the fridge to get it.

it's ok to break the accepted triangle of cooking surface/sink/fridge if there's a good reason, but with this much room in the kitchen, there's no reason to have say, the pantry cabinet on the left there instead of elsewhere (maybe even freestanding) and having the fridge god knows where.

also, unless i'm missing something, there's no dishwasher, which again, seems criminally dumb in a kitchen that large.

>>14519325
GIS tells me that's from the invisible man. hard to know if the flaws are intentional or not (like the lighting being really soft with medium-dark cabinetry. again, a pretty large triangle, but not nearly as bad as the last one (the fridge is in the frame, at least).

really nice suburban tans, beiges and browns everywhere. i like the raised panels on some and glass doors on the others. that's a good touch to break up monotony.

>>14519518
i'm sure there's a kitchen somewhere, but that looks like a really nice dumper in front of a dining table and a storage shelf.

>>14520643
hey, an actual home. not sure i like the soffit if it isn't necessary to hide something, but it does break up the lines, so it's not awful. the fake plants up there look silly to me, but whatever. not fond of either the floor or countertop, but whatever. that's really picking nits tho. otherwise, it's a really nice kitchen that looks smartly laid out. i'm guessing there's a dishwasher in the island we can't see from this angle.

tight triangle for easy functionality, extra lighting for when necessary, nice slide-in range to show off more of a small backsplash, etc.

gotta split this up...

ah the sopranos. hideous green typical in the burbs. out of fashion cathedral arch paneling. other than that, the function is great. you have, if memory serves, a cooktop to the side of that knife block, so again, a good triangle. plenty of room, but none of it used lazily or thoughtlessly. the one cabinet with glass for the show off pieces is again, a nice touch.

>>14521286
>washing machine
hello, eurofag. welcome to the shitpost. can only see half of your kitchen from this angle, but it's ok. i hate that style of cabinet pull and the silver trim on the backsplash looks tacky. i like your mini oven and cooktop tho.

>>14521295
dislike that floor and the color of the cabinetry, but from what i can see from the small pics, it looks fine otherwise. love all the natural light + the mix of recess and hanging light fixtures. seems well laid out.

>>14521404
this looks like a nice rental. cheap, but smartly done for the size. wouldn't have been a bad idea to have a bridge cabinet over the fridge for more storage. the laminate floor is what it is, but at least you have a granite countertop and a lip. the black appliances are kinda ugly, but hey, rental.

>>14521813
>>14522001
do you own this or is this another rental? if you own, i hope you didn't design it this way because lol this looks like absolutely shit design. i'm assuming this was done piecemeal with a lot of things put in as afterthroughts. like, who the fuck installs an over-the-range microwave under regular height kitchen cabinets just because? and holy fuck the placement of that range

i know it's technically called a free-standing range, but lmao that's not meant to be literal. move that next to the countertop where it belongs and you've got plenty of room for a pantry cabinet. from a personal (and not a design standpoint) consider adding something to break up the monotone color look. maybe replacing those roman shades with something bright.

>do you own this or is this another rental? if you own, i hope you didn't design it this way
It's mine. I didn't design it like this at all, but I'm sure it was piecemealed together over the last 100 or so years. There aren't even GFCI outlets. My plan is to get a slightly larger stove top to fit the space at some point(hopefully black to break up the tones). The only thing I did was change out the garbage peeling linoleum flooring for vinyl tile imitation and add the microwave. It's not an over the range microwave. It's really pretty narrow and small and I looked really hard to find something that would fit underneath the counters at all. I opted to mount it hanging because... why the fuck not? It gives me just a little more counter space.

Oh well, I may gut the whole thing in a few years if I ever marry a woman with taste. The refrigerator is also too big in my opinion, but I got a REALLY good deal on it being a floor model.

how the fuck is it mounted then? and what the hell are you gonna do with the 5 inches of space (hiyo) underneath that? put some plates? you could have just put the same plates on top.

the floor is a nice color imo and one of the nicer things about the kitchen period. get a stainless steel range to match the other appliances. until you change the color of the cabinets/countertop, i would consider a different paint job or maybe just different window treatments. those are probably custom and expensive, but man, they're not good looking. lotta ways you could go instead, but even simple bright colored tier curtains with a valance or even just a different color of roman shade would be a hell of a start.

I just bought this apartment a month ago.
It’s an ikea kitchen, their cheapest Formica countertop and all, but I have to say I am really surprised at how good this kitchen is surpasses kitchen remodels I’ve seen in the us where it costs five digits, I recon these kitchens are 500 bucks in materials and they will install it for you for a fee.
The pull tabs on the cabinets though are horrible I guess the previous owners picked them, i keep hitting my head on them I’m gonna look into replacements soon.
The trim on the backsplash on the bottom is not there for aesthetics, it is to keep water or other things from staining the 45 angle between the counter and back. The oven is full sized actually, you could even fit a 20lb turkey in there. So far this is the most amazing thing I have ever had in my life, after experiencing homelessness nothing beats having a roof over your head and it’s all mine, after 359 more payments

I have a little kitchen that I like to think I keep clean.
I have a strip for knives and a hanging display for spatulas, ladles etc..
I wipe down the counters once a week and wipe down my main prep counter above the dishwasher daily.
its about decluttering the inside of your cabinets so more shit can be hidden inside them and only displaying stuff that looks "good"
put up dried dishes asap, clean stovetop 1x a week at least, sweep at least 1x week, do dishes in the morning or right before bed daily.
keep extra storage bins on hand for things like spaces or dishcloths
keep a cardboard box in your pantry or outside for recycling

>> No.14524103

>>14524093
Your kitchen is what prompted my comments on cleanliness lmao. I'm feeling inspired to de-clutter. My cabinets are full of shit so the stuff I use regularly is sat out on the counters. Becomes a pain cleaning around all this stuff and just saps my energy.

Anyway thanks for all the responses anons, too scared of the internet to post my actual kitchen but maybe I'll make a thread about how important it is to declutter once I've actually done it.

>> No.14524127

>>14524103
post a before and after ITT!
No one will stalk you, only women post in kitchen threads anyway
I would definitely declutter so you can put your stuff up. I leave my cast iron out usually but my Dutch oven and little green pan get put up usually.
you want to maximize as much counter space as possible as well, and keep your prep area as minimal as possible, utilize your bar if you have one and don't be ashamed of also prepping food at the dining room table if your kitchen is just too cluttered or small for the time being

easy way to declutter and tell the difference between trash and good is
>how often do I use this?
if daily to 1x a week keep it, if you havent used it in a year definitely toss it or sell it.
>do i have multiples of this?
if you do, pick your favorite one
>is this material garbage, is this device broke/not working as intended?
scratched Teflon skillets, scratched baking trays, old plastic mixing bowls, anything broken or flimsy can go

once you declutter store like with like and make a determined junk drawer for extra small items. everything should have a proper place.
>bowl shaped items with other bowl shaped items
>skillets with skillets
>large items with other large items
>small items with other small items

if you have a small place I would organize the inside of some of your cabinets by size

you little skillet, pots, and baking trays can be in one cabinet, and your big skillets, pots, dutch oven, casserole dish, roasting tray, can all go in one cabinet

hope some of this advice helps :)) pls consider posting pics!

Get an actual table and put bar stools or w/e for the island. Fuck eating there for anything more than a snack.
Make sure the joint between the countertop and the wall is properly sealed. Put some silicon if not while it's still nice and clean.
Find something to block the hole between the counter and the oven or else you'll have shit accumulating in there all the time.
Get some decent dish rack that can fit under the sink. Since it's an island you don't want to just leave it there if you can avoid it.
Enjoy it while it's clean because all white like that will not stay immaculate for long.

There is a dining room to the left, with room for a table that sits 8-10. It's just island seating.

Thanks for rest of the advice. Once it's done being built and I can inspect it I will take your advice. I'm not for a dishrack, but keeping one under the sink is a good idea. Right now I mostly just clean stuff in the sink and put it right into the dishwasher.

oh yeah one more thing. For the island seating, whatever you get try to find something that fits under OR doesn't swivel. Swivelling chairs guarantee the side of the island will get destroyed by the corners hitting it all the time.
I couldn't see it but if you have a dishwasher then my comment is kinda moot, just get a drying mat then. If the sink is inside the countertop you can get the flat kind with an opening so you just lift it up a bit and water drips in the sink. It works too if the sink is over the counter but it's not as good.
Also you might wanna childproof it a bit, dem sharp corners are the perfect height for a nice forehead wound when they get excited and start running circles around the island.

Picture from the catalogue from when I moved in, get triggered and call me a liar all you want, it's 30*C inside today and I can't be bothered to clean for you faggots.
Literally nothing have changed since I moved in apart from the shit the photographer placed on the counter-top for the picture.
The only thing I have on the opposite side is my fridge/freezer combo

I'd take the kitchen aid off the counter unless you're cooking all the time. Move the dish thing to the right so you have space to prep and put stuff on the stove when cooking or toss into the sink (like unused vegetable bits) when prepping. just my thoughts

whats in that box in the background?

>> No.14534601

>>14534477

You definitely need more counter space. Take off the kitchen aide and get an adhesive hanging paper towel roll to place under your center cabinet over the sink. Clears up half your counter.

this is very cute, but i would want more color. like teal and mustard. also i hate your sink but you can't really help that. how would you wash a baking sheet?

>> No.14534710

the microwave is also a vent, so it's like a two-in-one. it also gives you more counter space.

to make sure their eyes, the only brain matter outside the safety of the skull, get a regular dose of radiation.

also to make sure that when they're retrieving hot things from the microwave that there's a higher chance of them dropping scalding food/beverages and injuring themselves/others due to the stupid fucking angle they'd have to get it out at.
