I am making some traditional Carbonara with guanciale and pecarino for the missus, what can I make as some side dish to it?

4chan is neither an acceptable substitute for Google nor is it an acceptable substitute for having a social life.

Asparagus mixes well with the cream in the carbonara.

Should suck for you living by such narrow definitions of reality and thinking it matters.

So any suggestions for the side dish?

Add leeks, scallion or red onion. Maybe tomato? Olives? Cucumber?
If you have some fresh herbs use it (parsley etc.). Dried herbs is good as well (oregano, thyme). Salt and pepper. Make a simple vinaigrette.

a side dish to pasta?
i'd say prepare some appetizers which you eat before, some good tomatoes and mozzarella drizzled with olive oi and basil, some olives, some prosciutto or other cold cut
then eat the pasta on its own
then make some dessert, idk. i think tiramisu is italian? i don't like it so i never bothered to check.

How about a soup like shrimp bisque or a rich clam chowder with garlic cheesy bread and a nice salad maybe with a shrimp skewer on the side.

>> No.14519651

I would start with a simple appetizer to munch on. I like pesto and melba toast. Have good bread. Serve a simple salad with homemade itallian dressing. Then serve your pasta. If that is not enough buy a desert or add a white been soup

oh fuck that's gonna be sooooo goood.

A side dish can just be a nice bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar to dip in.
