If not, why ?

Lazy way of doing, like caramelizing onions.

>Adding sugar to one of the few veggies that adds sweetness by itself.

I'm not a child, so I don't like sugar on my meals.

>> No.14421073

I actually just stew mine in wine and beef stock. They come out sweeter than glazed

>> No.14421075

Why would you add sugar to something already very sweet?

>> No.14421076

>>14421050
That sounds gross. Where is this done? Way to sweet.

>> No.14421078

I never liked glazing vegetables with sugar. Stuff like this, caramelized onions, or yams with marshmallows just never tasted as good as the cooked vegetables did on their own. I much prefer savory over sweet.

my carrot glazes every dish that comes out of my kitchen

I don't need the added sugar, plus they are plentu sweet on their own.

>> No.14421087

Sounds like it'd be a bit much, maybe as a kind of snack or health nut dessert, but not as part of a meal.

Too sweet.

Cause I want to eat vegetables, not candies.
Fucking Americans I swear to god.

roasted carrots are already disgustingly sweet as is

>> No.14421560

Yes, but I usually do it with honey and ginger instead of just brown sugar.

Caramelized onion is a cooked vegetable on its own.

Cooked carrots get pretty sweet without adding extra sugar and molasses to it.

It's a common Thanksgiving dessert in America. It's pretty good, actually.

I don't usually cook carrots. I eat them raw.

Never had this delectable dish? Guess you've never had a real American thanksgiving.

I attended a thanksgiving in Florida once.
I only remember two things:
alcohol free
and
cinnamon butter of some sort which was delicious.

>> No.14421694

3/4 Boil carrots
Brown in pan with some olive oil.
Add in some butter, cook until butter starts to brown.
Pinch of dried tarragon, and about a tbs of honey.

Season well, mix and let stand for about 3 minutes before serving.

Different levels of sweetness, goes amazingly well with roast chicken.

Because it will fuck up your teeth and is unhealthy. Try some lemon, rosemary and white wine next time.
