Balut is really good. And people kinda like it based on fertility. I didn't mind 19-20 days other than shit gets stuck in my teeth and pulling feathers out later makes people look at you like you're a nutter. I knew an old lady that consider it to be her birthday to get one as close to hatching as possible.

Anyways they taste exceptionally rich in flavor. The texture of the whites are kinda rubbery because you have the cook the bird. But damn is it savory, probably because you get all the organs and nutrients, and a splash of vinegar if you're eating it like we did.

Every year of school from 4th grade onward, I had at least 6 of these type of flips in my class. Being a spic, used to get lumped in with them cause they all have Spanish last names.
