- High performance oil, very good at high temperatures
- Refined is neutrally flavored
- Good for health, better than olive and certainly better than canola/peanut/sunflower
- Almost liquid at room temperature (I live in a warm place)
- Can be used in place of butter in many places, like toast, where you then don't have to worry about burning milk solids

>High performance oil, very good at high temperatures
So is peanut, which is cheaper
>Refined is neutrally flavored
Too bad the unprocessed organic hippy trend means all the stores carry is raw coconut oil that is overwhelmingly tropical
>Almost liquid at room temperature
Even in the summer I have to claw it out of the tub with an ice cream scoop
>Can be used in place of butter in many places, like toast
fucking gross, dude.

you just have to seal it and make sure you dont get moisture in it. dont stick a spoon with food on it into a coconut oil bottle for example

Yes, I'm still scientifically literate. I thought the fat denial fad was over, do people still blog about saturated fat being a health food?

How much are you getting paid? I mean it has some rubbing on you uses, but despite what kids say it's not something you put in your mouth. It raises your LDL worse than animal fat.

LDL isn't a bad thing, no matter what doctors shill. LDL is a carrier for lipids through the bloodstream. The problem isn't with having lots of lipid carriers, but in what kinds of lipids are being carried. If you eat junky vegetable oils you have a lot more to worry about from high LDL than you do if you're only eating animal fats and olive and coconut oil.

"Blood sugar isn't a bad thing, no matter what doctors shill." Like every constituent of the blood, the amount you have needs to be within a safe range.
>If you eat junky vegetable oils you have a lot more to worry about from high LDL than you do if you're only eating animal fats and olive and coconut oil.
No, because vegetable oils and olive oil (don't try to steal that one back now, kek) lower LDL

>> No.14375993

Coconut oil is very popular and is not better than olive oil. I use coconut oil to replace ghee. I wouldn't use coconut oil to infuse garlic for tomato sauces. That's stupid.

>>14374276
>Even in the summer I have to claw it out of the tub with an ice cream scoop
I'm imagining you as one of those lobster claw people since coconut oil is liquid at slightly over room temp. It is also very easy to scoop in cold weather, if you are not limp wristed. Er, clawed.

>He still thinks any kind of oil is healthy
Oils to fats is what sugar is to carbs.
Just because you get the expensive raw sugar, doesn't suddenly make it healthy.
