do americans really?

>> No.14346596

>>14346582

Yes, Americans do eat Colman's ENGLISH mustard on our delicious burgers three meals a day. Whereas the English themselves eat nothing but chicken tikka, and you are probably across the Channel in doner kebab territory.

No worries, just half-hearted "bants".

For me, Kosciusko brown and their beer varieties are nice all-purpose mustards--with Colman's and a certain ultra-spicy Russian brand as special-purpose condiments. Anything with seeds is nice too; Inglehoffer Stone Ground is easy to find in local supermarkets.

We have this in the Euro section of my local grocer. Can somebody tell me their opinion and what it tastes like, like, say, how it differs from other mustards. They demand a pretty penny for it, so I wonder if it's amazing or a gimmick.

>> No.14346826

>>14346794

English food generally has a reputation for being bland, but Colman's is actually spicier than typical American yellow mustards--not overpowering, but noticeably different, with just a little sweetness for balance. You can actually buy it at some Walmarts; my local store (Northeast) has it for $3 for a 5.3oz bottle. Colman's could easily be a general purpose cookout mustard if you like a little more bite than French's, etc.

Spicy Brown Gang for life. I have Dijon in the fridge, but it's almost always just used in sauces to help emulsify, simply because it's the least offensive mustard.
