I moved here from Bongistan 13 years ago, have since lived in a few different suburbs in Adelaide. Everywhere I've lived has always been within reasonable distance of an independent bakery which usually sells either the best fucking pies and pastries I've ever had if it's owned by whites, or dog rolls made with the best bread ever if it's owned by viets.

There's also a whole bunch of different burger joints all over the place which these days are only a couple bucks more expensive than maccas but are way fucking better (says a lot about the terrible quality:price ratio at maccas). And then you've got little independent chains like Swedish Tarts or Zambrero. And yeah, the espresso-based coffee is 10/10, I remember last time I visited the UK a decade ago and found the coffee to be tepid shitwater in comparison.

Plus when it comes to basic ingredients, Australia has some of the best quality produce in the world, can't beat some good grass-fed strayan beef. Tonnes of good veggies and dairy produce here too, all within a few dozen miles of this city.
