De-poop but keep the roe. On some of the bigger prawns u4-u6 the roe unfortunately comes out with the poop save the roe and dehydrate and make a sick XO.

There is two sides of shit on a shrimp if its deveighned on top (pic related) sometimes its got a nasty track of line crap on its stomach ..butterfly shrimp is the way to go unless you enjoy poprocks in your skrimps

It's a couple different things, including nerves and connective tissue. Technically, the partly digested contents are chyme, not feces.

Why is shrimp always served with the tail still on? If I'm eating a pasta dish that shrimp in it, I really don't want to have to deal with getting the tail off every single time I come across a shrimp. You can either try using a fork and knife and probably won't get all the meat out of the tail, or you have to touch your food and wipe your hands on your napkin repeatedly. Usually, you can guess the quality of a restaurant by checking this. If they bother to devein the shrimps, it's a sign of care.

Are you from a coastal area where you can get actual fresh caught shrimp? Shrimp is so much more amazing if you can cook them whole (head on and all). You need to let all of their "juices" or whatever steam inside the shell unbroken. But yeah, if you're just getting frozen shrimp from the grocery, don't be a lazy fuck and pull the poop cord out.
