After trying out three local roasteries and getting stale beans each time, and getting subpar beans from the internet, ive finally said fuck it and am going to start roasting my own God damn beans. Ordered the popcorn popper from sweetmarias already, but does anybody know of a good place to get quality green beans?

>>14332904
greencoffee.coop They've only got brazilians right now, but sign up and make sure to subscribe to the cupping notes so you get emails on new beans. I'll roast another batch in the popper tonight.

You couldn't be anymore wrong.

Loma La Gloria black honey. I'm definitely snagging at least another 10lbs if I can.

Does anybody else feel like this kettle is heavy-handed? I'm having trouble pouring slowly out of this one after using a regular gooseneck without the heating bits at the bottom.

Bulky, heavy, looks like shit on the counter, and it rusts. But yeah, there's not reason they didn't counterweight it. Should have bought a stagg.

>>14333203
Is the stagg really worth $150 though?

I like it for whatever thats worth. Accurate. Counterweighted handle feels great. Real nice lid. Almost sprung for the walnut one, but keeping it oiled seems like a hassle. Doesn't seem to rust out like the oxo and bonavita, but I only put berkey water in it.

tfw people with ek43s cant control their brew time.

To really answer your question though, it feels really really nice to pour with. Counterweight handle and fluted spout are not memes, the PID temp control for over an hour is awesome, especially for tea or mate where I’m drinking at a specific temp for an extended session. It also heats up extremely fast. My only complaint is the build quality of the base, the button and overall base feel extremely flimsy. My screen busted once after two years daily use but they sent me a replacement no questions asked. Worth $150? Hard to say, but it has all the features I could ask for in a pourover kettle.

Looks comfy. Last store brand I bought I like was aldis donut blend. Not bad considering it was a pretty light roast.
