There are seriously people in the world who think streaky is better than back.

It's called peameal bacon or canadian bacon.

>> No.14311325

Peameal or Canadian is cooked entirely differently than crispy bacon. Stop comparing hams, you idiot.

Stop pretending you know a goddamn thing. You'd do us all a favour. Crispy bacon is one thing. Peameal bacon is a different food. Stop being a stupid asshole. Peameal is like a cooked salted ham. If you've ever tasted it, you'd know that.

UK here, back bacon is the norm over here, and is superior for sandwiches and chopped up used for cooking.
American bacon, or streaky bacon, is nice cooked and chopped up as a garnish, or used on burgers as a textural layer, but doesn't fit in a stand-alone sandwich or a cooked breakfast in my opinion

Have you been following. Streaky bacon is shit and back bacon is superior. Regardless of your superiority complex. I'll take actual pork contents in a product over pork fat (pork may be included).

>> No.14311488

Let's be honest here. Civilized people from developed nations eat streaky bacon. Mindless, knuckledragging savages from third world counties eat back bacon. All arguments have been refuted. Post in this thread if you agree

>ham is bacon
here in Canada, where back bacon is known as Canadian bacon, we don’t pretend back bacon isn’t just ham. It is ham.

>> No.14312232

>>14311183
Well pork loin is better but I prefer it roasted whole or better yet cooked over ten hours with indirect heat and smoke. I mean you could cure it but it's sort of a waste of the good part of a pig. Since pork belly is the throw away part already and most people don't want to braise uncured belly streaky bacon is the best use. Leave it to the brits to take a better cut, make it worse and still find a way to feel superior about it.

Yes, the fat content of streaky bacon makes it flavorful, juicy, and practically melt in your mouth when cooked correctly. It's the closest that meat gets to the utter sensory satisfaction that candy can give you.
