This is literally why i dont cook anything ambitious.
Like, i COULD buy the ingredients and spend the time making a nice broiled salmon with a risotto side, but making enough risotto for one person is kinda silly, and if i'm gonna heat up my place using a broiler, i might as well do more than one salmon, right? But then, reheating it later is gonna taste like shit... I could just make enough for my family, but i dont live with them, and taking it to them would be a pain, and i dont even like them that much...
Fuck i'm lonely.

I have been on /ck/ for years. I used to have a huge house with a custom kitchen I built myself . Loved to cook, could make what I considered really top notch stuff. Had tons of friends who would have loved to have been invited for dinner in a house designed to entertain.
Was too afraid they would say no so I almost never had anyone over .
Now my money situation is much reduced but I cook for others far more than I used to. Life is weird

Try joining up with a local church and sharing your meals when they have potluck or find a church that feeds the homeless and bring your food there. if you live in a small town sometimes the local volunteer fire department will also have potluck you could try talking to them.

No no no fuck you. Find some old people who live nearby. Bring them a dinner twice a week chat for five minutes they are lonely. Do it right and they would leave you their house in the will. My aunt got a $400,000 house in orange county this way and I know of two others similar. I would do the same as I'm an old hermit but I don't know how to find a kind person
