I also have trouble keeping it together. Don't drink a huge amount but sometimes go completely off the rails and do stupid shit.

I started to conceptualize drinking in moderation as protecting myself, rather than being a decent or respectable person. I figure self preservation is a more powerful instinct than anything else. So far it's working, trying to remember the last time I was blackout drunk, and I think it's at least a year ago.

You should taper, but that's not *that bad*. It's 13.5 drinks, you'll definitely experience withdrawal if you stop cold turkey but there's people out there pushing 20-25 a day.

Stop being a faggot. 5% of the highest tier of drinkers get DTs, most of which aren't even scary, and everybody else gets agitation, lack of hunger, and lack of sleep. Oh you poor fucking baby.

>> No.14275846

>>14275809
Putting up with an autistic child is tough and takes strength of character, and your other child feeling comfortable enough with themselves to embrace non-standard gender / sexuality shit reflects well on you in their finding you accepting enough to come out with it. You may feel like a faggot but there are a lot of SHITTY fathers out there, tons of kids would kill to have someone like you

Poor OP :( My Ex chickened out on starting a family right at the last minute so I ended up no kids too. DINKS (double income no kids) was a badge of pride or something. Every now and then I consider fostering.

When certain people smoked when I was in high school, I used to think they had low self-esteem, like you could see that big insecurity chip on their shoulder. They looked like posers, ya know? Everyone knew it was unhealthy.

Then, a decade later or so, anti-smoking started that $10/tax per package, and I was like wow, that's serious money robbed from their family each week for their habit. Then a decade later, those poor schmucks were banned from smoking everywhere, how inconvenient. Too bad they're addicted. I felt bad for the retired ppl on fixed incomes.

At the same time, there were people spending $75 on a Friday night tab for drinking, maybe Saturday too, $150. Alcohol adds up too. I never really thought about it in a financial sense like I did with drugs. When you see those stupid meth heads on COPS shows, their little kids aren't getting toys, clothes, and healthy food, or just fun outings or vacations, from their selfishness with blowing their money on avoiding life.

When you don't have kids though? Who are you hurting?
