The interior is 1 cubic foot larger than my old one as well, so it's a bit bigger which is nice.

Yeah, but my house isn't hooked up to the local gas company, so it would've been MINIMUM a thousand or two just to get a gas line installed.

My budget was $800.

Looks nice. How much did you pay?

>> No.14272143

>>14272131
$742 after taxes, delivery/install, and takeaway for the old one.
This is the one

Biggest selling point for me was the flat top (coming from a coil top), and it is 6.3 Cu ft. instead of 5.3 Cu ft. like my previous.

Yeah, I admit I do prefer gas tops, but yes, electric ovens do tend to be more precise than gas.

Though the argument for "wet" heat vs "dry" heat can be made depending what you bake regularly.

They are, gas provides a more humid baking environment though so it can be better for certain tasks.

I like gas for stove tops, but for ovens, the electric ones are more precise and they cool faster as well. I'm not a baker, though, so I can't comment on technical aspects of which type is better for breads or cakes.

Assuming you really wanted gas, you could have just bought these compressed gas and hooked them up to a gas stove, heck, maybe even a wok burner

I would have bought this gas stove (with single serving oven), and then buy a big oven for stuff like roast pork, turkeys, etc.

pretty sure that's not legal here. Besides, I have a grill outside if I want to do some steaks or burgers.

No gas hookup in the house, so gas top simply wasn't happening. And the oven interior is def large enough for a big roast pic related >>14272066

The problem with 4chan is that you post "I made X" or "I bought X" and a bunch of autists start to make useless comments like "I would have made X differently" or "I would have bough Y".

>> No.14272853

Just checked, mine is older than OP’s. It has trouble maintaining a temperature, and doesn’t self-check the temp unless you turn it off and re-set a temp. For example if you pre-heat to 350deg, open it up for 10 seconds to put food in, then re close it, the temp will still read 350 despite being much lower. It also doesn’t re-heat to the original 350. Turning it off and re setting the temp to 350 after that shows the correct temp and the oven heats back up to where it should be.

I undercooked the shit out of stuff untill I figured out what was wrong with it

I guess i'll try this out, be good to know if that is how it behaves. Not a huge deal.

Ye seems pretty ubiquitous in US electric range models.

>> No.14272882

>>14272865
Honestly just do a quick test to make sure it does or doesn’t do it. Set it to 350, leave the door open for a bit, then close the door. Check to see if the temp readout changes. You have a newer model so it’s probably A-okay

>> No.14272884

I'll give it a shot after i finish these pizza bites.

>> No.14273049

>>14272882
>>14272884
So I can confirm that it does what you're describing, but it DID seem aware that the door had been opened and the element kicked on once the door was closed, but the temp readout continued to say 350f despite the door having been left open for 30 secs or more.

hitting cancel and then bake again at 350f and it confirmed it was at 260f and was preheating back up to 350f.

So I think if I were to leave it to itself, it would heat back up to 350f, but it would probably take a couple minutes longer than canceling and setting it to preheat again, which very quickly brings it back up to temp.

Either way not a huge deal now that i'm aware of it.
