Do you call them green onions, salad onions spring onions (based) or are you pretentious and call them scallions

That's actually the wrong way around. The ones with the bulb are allium cepa which is the same species as white or yellow onions and the ones without are allium fistulosum. So the bulb one should be referred to as green onion and the other is a welsh onion or spring onion.
