>> No.14227036

No because cooking it will kill any contaminants whereas washing it will just contaminate your sink

Yes I do because otherwise I wouldn’t be able to eat my chicken medium rare.

so you don't wash your counters? even though they might have salmonella from the chicken you didn't wash? I mean using your logic there's no need.

>> No.14227196

>>14227139
You cannot wash salmonella out of chicken, only cooking it thoroughly will kill the bacteria. All you're doing by washing it is spreading it around your sink.

Salmonella is killed by heat only.

Yes, I wash my counter every time I cook, but I don't wash my chicken, as it gives you a bland, tasteless piece of meat to which you'll need to add a lot of seasonings to compensate.

Depending on where you got it from.
While cooking will kill any bacteria, there may be physical contaminants like sand; and you also want to wash any blood out of the body cavity when you check to see if it was gutted properly

>> No.14229791

No? There shouldn't be any particulate matter on your fucking chicken that you would need to rinse off. Sure, it's covered in fucking bacteria, but that's killed by cooking it to 165 degrees fahrenheit.
