Looks like frozen, low quality meat. You can eat it and get nutrition from it, so there's that I guess.

The epitome of America. Rebranded processed dog shit for the subhuman low IQ cattle who don't want to buy groceries in an actual grocery store.

taste ok if you put them on the grill
but they are absolute dog shit. Some bites taste like beef and some like filler its not really mixed.

had my first ever family BBQ and said fuck it to quality. Grilled they were ok. No one complained. Was an upgrade over frozen patties.

>had my first ever family BBQ and said fuck it to quality

I've found that

a group of 15 people would rather have 25 cheap thin hot dogs and 25 frozen cheap burger patties with the cheapest buns and no toppings other than ketchup and mustard.

than 20 decent bratwursts, 20 fresh quarter lb burgers with decent buns and an assortment of toppings. add in some cheap hot dogs for the kids.

so fuck em they're getting the first one.

I think there's still a middle ground between expensive artisan sausages and $20/lb steaks which are wasted on a group without stooping to walmart hotdogs and buns.

Pork tenderloin and tri-tip both come to mind as cuts that are relatively cheap and easy to do on the grill.

Tri-tip is getting expensive as FUCK down here. No one in the south seems to want to cut one and when they do they treat it like premium meat. Fucking flank steak was more per lb than ribeye

You'd think it would be a cool idea to keep a small portion of nice things for the friends of yours who would enjoy them but then all of the plebs would be like "I want to try it too!" after they stuffed themselves with 20 hot dogs.

I think a better idea for family-style bbqs is to have a non-grilling appetizer type thing. I did that with bacon wrapped blue cheese stuffed dates and caprese salad, some tabouleh, watermelon feta salad, some vinegar based coleslaw. They'll all try a bit and be like "this is great!" and then go back to their hot dogs but fuck cooking a shit ton of steaks or pork or whatever for them.

>> No.14207219

They're crap, but what do you expect for a dollar? They're quite literally scraps meat glued back together. The meat isn't TERRIBLE quality, it's not like you'll be repulsed by the taste but it grills to a fucking gray color no matter how you try to sear or cook it, and it's really fucking difficult to find it appetizing in a visual fashion.

I still ate them every day for a year because it was the only source of protein I could afford.

>> No.14207561

>>14204395

They aren't bad. Don't listen to all these faggots. In a blind taste test, they wouldn't be able to tell the difference between that and beef bought at a grocery store.

Reminder that all beef in the US come from one of a small handful of companies and all beef come from the same animal.
