Reminder: You are supposed to store mayo in the refrigerator door.

Post other products with specific storage requirements

>> No.14202710

Pro tip: the main compartment of your refrigerator is cooled by vents piped from your freezer.
If you stick things in the back of the fridge near the vents, they will freeze.

Friendly reminder that if you don't store eggs in the refrigerator you probably live in a shithole and can't afford a fridge anyways.

mayo, ketchup, mustard, pickles, soy sauce, whorechestershire, do not need to be refrigerated. They are all too acidic to grow bacteria.

butter can sit in a covered container on the counter indefinitely.

peanut butter will last for years in the cupboard after it has been opened.

bread only needs to be refrigerated if it has no preservatives.

potatoes and tomatoes need to be in a fridge both will sprout if left out too long, yes the seeds in a tomato can sprout on you counter in as little as a couple of days (I have seen it).

Unless you wash your eggs like Amerimutts do, then there is really no reason to refrigerate them.

no you don't understand, eggs have a natural coating that prevents contamination by microbes. washing the eggs removes this coating and makes your eggs more susceptible to spoilage/contamination. if you must wash your eggs, use them immediately after

>supermarket chains are still paying to refrigerate eggs even though they don't need to!

Do people believe that these for-profit companies that sell food haven't figured out the best way to store food? Store food how you find it in the supermarket, unless it hasn't yet been opened

Same. But after a few weeks they start to go watery. After 2 months they will be rotten. When the albumin takes on a yellow or greenish tint, they're risky.
