I think most of them will do this, or start serving people like a cafeteria where the food is behind glass and you get served whatever you want as you go down the line. Might eventually see big buffet chains start trying to automate more but that'll take a while.

I really like the idea of a buffet but was always a bit grossed out knowing how poor the hygiene habits are of the other people there. Hope this'll make them put more focus on that and fix those problems.

Number one rated buffet in the country I think it's about 55 bucks to get in there all the crab leg is flown in Daily from the Bering Sea. I can make my own damn eggs at home, but gorging myself with all-you-can-eat eggs is a different experience. But it's very rare for me to find GOOD scrambled eggs. No I went to the most amazing buffet last Easter at a beautiful country club. My daughter remembers it as being “the castle on the water.”
It was ridiculously good. Prime rib, lamb, raw bar, all sorts of fresh seafood dishes, amazing in every way.

I went to the chinese buffet in town now that the quaratine is lifted. All the food was behind glass and you couldn't serve yourself. The chinese QT's would get a plate and ask what you wanted and then put it onto the plate for you.

I’ve never liked the concept. The whole concept of going out to me involves the server doing the work for me. I do not want to have to get up, wait in line, grab my own plate, and shovel food onto it with shared serving tongs like a farm animal at a feeding trough. Many foods do not do well when they sit under heating lamps for any length of time and a mark of a professional chef is the ability to properly time components of a meal so they will all come out at the same time.

I’m also not a fat fuck, so the idea of all you can eat doesn’t really appeal to me.

If all I want is calorie consumption, I’ll just gorge on food at home or get fast food. The last time I was at a buffet was a Mother’s Day brunch buffet a
