I'm an American, and while everyone always shits on British food, I've always been intrigued by the full English - everything looks delicious, and I can't really find it anywhere here stateside.

What are some foods you'd love to try, but realistically never will?

hey dickhead I wasn't saying it was hard to pan fry things at all
don't you dare put fucking words into my mouth you cunt

all I was trying to say is that frying all of those things at the same time can be tricky to pull off, your timing needs to be very good, and it would be ill-advised to do it all in one pan, so inevitably you're going to use several pans which is a lot of washing up for such a dish
furthermore it's a lot of greasy food which is extremely unhealthy, and the pupported idea that it's a hangover staple is just outright stupid and nonsensical since no hungover person in their right mind would want to attempt a full english

It really isn't. I personally prefer my tomatoes raw in the morning, but a few nice thick slices with salt and pepper bring a lot of freshness to a plate that, honestly, kinda needs it. I get that pan frying them defeats my point a little, but not completely. And pan fried mushrooms are always great.

lived in bongland for a tiny bit and i've had some gourmet full englishes with high quality ingredients over there. it's hard to find a decent full english in america. they all look like what you'd find at the lowest tier restaurants possible in england. best i've had is commonwealth in oakland which makes their own sausages. other than that i feel like you're most likely to run into an irish pub with a quality full irish which is slightly different from a full english but still pretty close

Wow.

Alright, lads. Here's the 'complex' and 'tricky' fry-up order. Get your frying pan fired up: sausages in first, then bacon, then remove sausages and bacon to plate/s, put halved tomato in pan and fry each side, put in mushrooms and fry off, remove to plate, add beans to pot separately and warm up on low heat, wipe down pan of any mushroom/tomato juices (not obligatory), butter bread on both sides and put in pan and fry both sides, put on plate, then fry egg, put on plate, spoon on beans, serve. No need to worry about black pudding because it's not traditional to an English fryup anyway so you can ignore it altogether.

That's it. That's the order. Longest are the bangers and bacon. Both provide the grease to cook the tomato and the mushrooms. Wipe down pan after the tomato and mushroom with a bit of kitchen towel but this isn't necessary. Some people also put their bangers and bacon into a warming dish in the oven - you can turn oven on but just keep it low to keep them warm (not necessary, however). Once sausages and bacon are done, the rest is really fast. Just keep the pan at high heat throughout (turn down slightly for egg which is last stage anyway).

>>14151979
I've never seen one of these here. You'd be laughed straight out most households if you gay cooked your fry up in one of those things. That's not how the tomato goes anyway.

Mate, believe me, if you're experienced at doing this, nothing goes cold. And, besides, you're acting as though all dishes should somehow magically be made in one cooking utensil only which is, of course, retarded. If you wanted to do this really proper (for instance, if making it for your mum - yours especially given what a goer the night before she usually is), you'd do your tomatoes and mushrooms in a smaller pan at the same time as the bangers and bacon then bread and egg straight after. I'm just pointing out to you that it's not 'tricky' at all. If you're not an idiot who doesn't know what they're doing and hasn't grown up with how to do this, anyway.

Bold claim you’ve provided fuck all source for, I see.

Black pudding is typical in fryups from the north west with high Irish migrant populations. It’s definitely not common in London (pretty much the capital of the caff fryup), and you won’t find it in most working class caffs up north, either (including Yorkshire). The only place it tends to turn up are on hotel breakfasts as a plate filler, and Instagram meme-ing.

As I say: you don’t find this stuff used in any English dish or cooking otherwise, and given a fryup is a working class breakfast, you would. It’s Irish shit that’s been spread around, and has fuck all to do with us traditionally. No true Englishman would eat it anyway.

You can probably find it at a good irish or english pub menu if you look hard for a brunch or other special event.
american sausage links, are differently flavored and far less fatty. We highlight sage and garlic more than the Brits. British bacon is somewhere between ham and canadian bacon, not smoked, just cured, use a country ham or just buy canadian bacon sliced thicker.
You can buy the british imported Heinz baked beans, or find a recipe online, but they are plainly and kind of tomato-ey flavored.
Broiled tomatoes or pan grilled tomatoes are delicious, I love them, but a breading topped broiled tomato is better.
I always love grilled mushrooms.

What is hard to find is more typically the Irish breakfast, which is the inclusion of black pudding in the british style, but not impossible to find in any culture's butcher shops, such as in the portugese or argentinean style. White sausage is impossible to get, dunno why, and it has a hint of spice and oatmeal, closest thing to it, is probably a fresh veal or pork, mace scented bratwurst in flavor, but texture is softer. White sausage is doable at home, blood sausage is tricky. You don't want anything not fresh.

Termites. I've heard they contain a lot of fat naturally, so I think they could taste nice fried up. Maybe mushed together into patties and eaten as burgers.

We've got it, you just have to go to a speciality Polish food store if you don't have a lot of Polacks in town.

Right. Full English's are not an everyday meal, if anything a full English is a Saturday Morning meal to soak up and cure a hangover.

There are many variations but the Sausage and bacon are the base and must be slowly cooked in a pan to render the fat and then mushrooms added to soak up the flavour. Bean juice must be drained (but not fully) as not to taint the rest of the food items with wank bean juice, in my opinion, beans must be kept to a minimum and be slightly mashed or lightly abused. Tomatoes are down to discretion, I like tinned plum tomatoes with basil but fresh are still good. Black pudding is a must, never ever have an English breakfast without black pudding, it's not an English breakfast without! I do prefer Lamb's blood than swine myself. I don't care what anybody says but Haggis is a great addition, i also like potato cakes. Something that has almost become a staple to the breakfast are Hash Browns, you yanks have influenced one of our dishes and to be fair hash browns are fucking great (retarded name though). Now Eggs, I don't eat eggs myself but if I did I'd go for fried with a generous coating of salt and pepper and a nice spicy sauce for the yoke but just a dollop as not to interfere with the rest of the dish.

A large cup of Yorkshire Tea and Buttered Toast are a given but fried bread is a satuated slab of fat in my eyes, i can feel my heart begging me not to eat it as i do. Optinal: HP fruity of just HP, goes well with the meat

You’re talking shit, mate. What you’re referring to as ‘white sausage’ is white pudding and is Irish. Black pudding is also Irish. We also have smoked bacon here.

>> No.14155811

To confirm what others have said ITT, black pudding is traditionally Irish and brought to the U.K. by Irish immigrants. It’s not part of a true English fried breakfast.

Wrong. The fact you then went on to talk about haggis and you prefer tinned tomatoes proves you’re not English. Nice larp.

If any of you ever get to go to japan, for the love of god try the 4.0-4.5% milk. For reference, In america, whole milk only goes up to 3.25%. I never liked milk that much but I am going crazy for this stuff. It's extremely flavorful and creamy, so much so that you can almost get a hint of mozzarella in it. I've been buying baumkuchens and other sweets just to have something to eat with it.
