>1/2 plate of shrimp

what a waste of money. I'm over wasting money at any asian buffet in my city anyway

First: grab a bowl of soup: I'm partial to won-ton.

Second, grab a plate:
--1 scoop of rice in the center of the plate
--garlic green beans
--something with lots of mushrooms
--a random non-deep fried item

Second plate is all unhealthy. I walk down the isles and take a piece or two of each gooey, spicy, and deep fried item until my plate is full.

I finish with an egg roll or a couple crab-rangoon pieces.

Chinese buffets are very nostalgic locations for me, used to go with my friends a lot in high school. Now I only get there maybe once per year.

1/4 of my hunger in crispy breaded chicken - orange chicken, general gao, chicken fingers, etc
1/2 my hunger in meat - pick the meat out of beef and brocolli, pick the meat out of kung pao chicken, etc
1/4 of my hunger in shit - crab rangoon, egg roll, dumplings, etc

1st plate: dubious sushi made by a Chinaman alongside some rangoons

2nd: meats and seafoods

3rd: a stir fry at the hibachi with all the available veggies and egg, usually either getting the ginger hoisin sauce or oyster sauce

Oh yeah that shit is amazing. My place used to do fake crab with jalapenos just in pure butter. I'm sure it was the worst thing I could eat possibly in existence but damn was it tasty.

First plate I go with my favorites. teriyaki chicken skewers, beef broccoli, crab, salmon rolls

Second plate I get experimental, get stuff I haven't tried before like sugar buns, egg rolls, noodle dishes, seafood casseroles.

Third plate is dessert. Bit of soft serve and cake to wind down.

Fourth plate I relive the highlights from the night. Want to really enjoy buffets? Get another plate of dinner after desert.
idc about eating the most expensive things because I'm not a cheap ass and want a buffet I like to stay in business.

I miss sit down Chinese places in the 90s when they'd actually serve these. I miss that aesthetic. Now it seems all Chinese places are either hole in the wall takeout only places or expensive fusion sit downs with electronic music and no prices listed on the menu

Kung Pao chicken
Crab rangoon
Teriyaki rat on a stick
General tso's
Beef chow mein
Pork fried rice

After that, I'll get some egg drop soup and sample some of the other ones. If I'm not stuffed by that point, I'll probably just start trying random shit.

I miss these little shits like you wouldn’t believe. Fucking chink asshole HAD to eat a poisoned bat and ruin everyone’s plans for at least a year.

>1st trip: A bit of everything until I fill my plate. Fried rice, either lo mein or curry noodles, chicken balls, egg rolls, spring rolls, these chicken skewers (not teriyaki) that kind of taste like curry, crab rangoon, a little bit of questionable sushi from the bar, and some sweet and sour for dipping.

>2nd trip: Fried rice, sesame chicken, an egg roll or two, chicken on a skewer, a crab rangoon or two, and some sushi.

>3rd trip: A dessert of that coffee cake and a small slice of cheesecake. Maybe one more egg roll and a couple pieces of sushi if I’m not totally stuffed. I go for dessert when I’m full but not stuffed. Might as well get your money’s worth and stuff yourself lethargic.

I have no idea what's in the picture, came up when I googled "pu pu platter". Looks comfy as hell though... what is it?
But no prices?? I worked at one of those places and if the customers knew what kind of gross-level cheapassery went into the food, they'd throw up. For example I almost got fired for throwing away rotten lettuce - the korean bastards wanted me to pick through it and find the best looking pieces to make into an $8 salad. I'm glad that place is out of business.
