For the people who have tasted the Carolina Reaper chili pepper, Is it really spicy as they say it is?

>> No.14152560

Yes it is. Neat thing is you can feel it travel through your body after you eat it.

If a woman did this to me, I would consider killing her, but unironically. I wouldn’t even care if I did something to “deserve it”, pretty sure half of the skin on my peen falling off would fuel my incoherent rage.

I've never tasted it whole, just dried flakes I bought online and I just couldn't handle it. I thought I was a spicy food champion, but I'll be honest, I had to fold and just stop eating the curry dish I made with it. It just burned and hurt real bad to the point where I realized I had to stop eating. That's never happened to me before, so I guess I'm still not ready. I'm planning to build my tolerance with other peppers like habanero, and then maybe I'll be ready to go back.

But then I wonder, which is stronger, the dried flakes or the fresh pepper itself..?

Is this the same as moruga?
I use three chillies in one of my recipes, one moruga, one cayenne and one bird's eye. It's pretty strong, yeah, but not overwhelmingly so, IMO. But then, those three chillies make four servings of food, so maybe it is strong af. At least it's tasty, right?

I ate a whole raw one last year. Delicious fruity flavor with a vicious burn. Went away after 10-15 minutes without eating or drinking anything else, but every hour or so I'd have a sort of "aftershock" in my guts for a few minutes where I felt like I was dying.

So yeah, it's spicy but manageable. Wish I could get the same flavor without as much heat, never had a pepper quite as tasty.

Never had the Carolina Reaper before but I have had but I have had Trinidad Scorpion Butch T pepper, Trinidad Moruga scorpion, correctly grown and doped by enthusiasts in the pepper community, raw / fresh.
Ate them both on separate occasions after 2 or 3 drinks and bored.
You know how a really hot sauce makes your mouth go numb? after the burning, same thing here. Except after 30 seconds or so it manages to burn past the numbness and go straight back into hellish pain.

This too, what no one tells you are the burning burps once it settles in your stomach and it gets pissed at you.
Vomiting it up is a special hell too as the oil has separated.

Oh and you thought spicy shits were bad before...the oil will seep out ahead of the shits and the shit itself will burn your asshole with the fury of a thousand suns.

Gonna be a hung jury when most of the males determine not guilty on the murder charges via jury nullification.

To give you an idea, I have on occasion forgotten to wear gloves when mincing peppers about 1/3rd as hot. My hands stung and were numb the next 2 days.
