The burger isn't that good, especially for 3 months salary.

if you complain about the price of 5 guys i know you are a lardass because you can easily get 1000 calories for $10 or less

Not really but then again most food that you don't make yourself isn't. People complain that your picture costs 18 bucks or whatever but don't take umbridge with an Italian place charging the same price for pasta and basic red sauce, plus tip, not including a drink.

Nah. Fries are good, and they don't charge extra for what you get on your burger. But nah.

What are you getting at?
They're both fast food.

You tried to dismiss the cost argument, but the cost is still significantly larger than most any other fast food competitor and the quality isnt really much better.

fast food =/= fast casual, 5 guys is fast casual, therefore more expensive.

Difference is even though red sauce is cheap as fuck, it does require some cooking know how and finesse to make a very impressive sauce

Burgers simply do not require any know how, anyone can make as good of a burger as they can at home

Yes, just get a little hamburger and fill up on toppings, and a small cajun fries. That's enough food for two meals if you aren't a total lardass.

Smashburger is a way better burger joint

>> No.14150561

no. i dont think the hamburger is really that good. seriously. the fries are nice, but rather limp. the bun is mushy. the cooks seem not that skilled. i prefer in n nout, its not as meaty but it just works better. i used to like a burger place in berkeley called barneys. not as great as they used to be. and i worked at Oscars, charbroiled burgies, but now its a kale quinoa bowl place for asian engineering students and other lost souls. havent had a really good restaurant burger in a while.

There are one of these in a town near me here in midwest flyover land. No one is ever there while Chick-fil-A is always crowded as fuck. I've never eaten at five guys but I'm assuming that it isn't very good based on that. Even Hardees gets more business.

>Is it worth the price tag?
tldr; yes, on rare occasion

Most chains and fast food joints are serving you shit that you'd only pay for because it fills you up - it's trash when you set it next to a home cooked meal. What sets Five Guys apart is that it's one of the few fast food burgers comparable to something you can make at home because they use the same fresh ingredients you can buy in the supermarket. To replicate their burger anybody can shop, cook, eat, and clean in less than an hour and a half. To drive, place an order, and eat at Five Guys probably takes 30 minutes. So going to Five Guys saves you an hour, but you only get about 1/3 of what you could have had for the same price if you made it at home. Five guys may be worth it if you want to save time one day, but you should be able to cook a burger on par with Five Guys anytime you want. Remember that you're paying for convenience whenever you're eating out. If I'm looking for a good burger and I don't have time to make it myself, they'd be one of the few places I would consider turning to... Unfortunately, Cook Out moved down the street from my Five Guys, so I go there 95% of the time because I can get the same fresh burger for about half the price and half the time. Whether it's worth the price depends on how much you value your time and the local competition. I find myself going to Five Guys most frequently when I'm visiting family up North since I'd rather not waste time cooking (especially in someone else's kitchen) when I'm on vacation. Sometimes that's just the price I'll pay for a good burger in a hurry.

The only one who cares about sh it like that are bodybuilders who are trying to pack in as many calories possible.

Almost all other people just want something tasty and not pay too much for it.

No, they give you tons of topping options but that doesn't help when the meat itself is bland and under-seasoned.

Smashburger and Habit Burger are way better. The only thing Five Guys has going for them are their fries.
