Deep fried shrimp doesnt give you that problem. The tail tastes pretty good and I view it similarly to eating the tails off of fish. Barely anyone in the west eats them but they are super tastey.

I never understood why people leave the tail on.

I grew up thinking that it wasn't safe to eat the tails. Then my ex insisted I try them so I did.
I wouldn't say they taste bad but they're flakey as fuck and just get stuck in my teeth.
They're not worth eating for what little taste they have.

crab is definitely the number 1 best of all. in just one cluster you have a satisfying amount of meat but lobsters are a pain in the balls for something little. not worth it. aside from the claws though.
