I haven't dabbled much in ice cream recently so I'm not sure how much value this opinion has, but I had some Tillamook strawberry the other day and hot damn, it was really good. My second bowl I added a sliced banana and a drizzle of hot fudge.

Personally I think Haagen Dazs is superior to every other brand. They make a chocolate with chocolate bar chunks, so I would give that a try.

I personally like mine better, love some good chunks, but my all time favourite was going to a fargi shop, grabb a cup and ask them to pour hot chocolate over my chocolate icecream, that was next level shit to me, parts of the poured chocolate would be hod and liquid, others would be solidified and it was... too good. It's hard to find that kind of thing nowdays, if you ever see that I recommend you go for it 100%, not syrup, hot melted chocolate.

I hate how ice cream is all made with Skim Milk, even Haagen Dazs. Is there a brand that still sells the good fattening stuff? I only eat ice cream once in a while, and the skim milk shit is gross. I'm talking, made with heavy cream and sweetened condensed milk.

Objectively the greatest ice cream coming through. Blue Bell a distant 2nd. B&J used to be good but they're trash-tier ingredients and fillers now. Haagen is at least still ice cream but it's bottom-barrel. None of the rest are even worth mentioning.

Mostly a western US brand but I've seen it in places on the east coast so they're spreading. No idea about stores. Just look around. They also make some of the best cheese and dairy you'll find in the store if they have any.

kek not even close, this shit is fucking trash with a ton of overrun and stabilizers. pretty much any of the mid tier ice creams (blue bell, publix premium, etc) that come in large containers like that are just ok. they all have more air than premium pint only brands. though even plenty of pint only brands are turning to shit now too

False. Every store has this in Charlotte, NC. It's a major creamery with major retail reach. Also have their cheese and butter.

Which doesn't matter anyway, since Jeni's is the armageddon, the fucking end times, of ice cream.

>> No.14086948

Haven't had Tillamook yet. Excited to try.

Ben and Jerry's: Pumpkin Cheesecake is a cut above the rest. Seasonal though.

Blue Bell: a discontinued Banana Bread one, forget the name: I force my vendor for Blue Bell at my store to order it when he can.

Actually Aldi knock off BnJs flavors are pretty good and super cheap.

It doesn't really matter whether or not they use skim milk. More milk fat and milk solids get added to anyways in the form of cream and skimmed milk powder. The only thing that really matters at the end of the day is how high the milk fat content in the final product is.

They mostly use 0% milk fat skimmed because it's easy to calculate to the desired milk fat percent. For example, it's common to use a 50/50 blend of 0% milk fat skimmed and 36% milk fat heavy cream to get a final fat content of 18% (which is roughly about hagaan has).

Also, while higher milk fat content is generally a very good indicator of quality in commercial ice cream, you'll start to notice a lingering fatty after taste stuck to your tongue after about 21% milk fat. I personally don't like it very much, and a lot of people can find it unappealing.
