>he burns the shit out of his bacon instead of leaving it slightly golden brown and soft
You could burn the shit out of anything and leave it tasteless charcoal, why not celery sticks or clumps of hair instead? You don’t burn your bacon to a crisp, do you?

Bacon doesn't have to be black to be crispy. Soft bacon is gross.

If you can't taste bacon at that stage, you should see a doctor.

It's very important to me what other people do with their food.

Bacon for eating as a side with eggs, toast, etc should be slightly soft but still hold it's shape when you lift it up between two fingers, not soggy. Bacon for sandwiches/ burgers should be extra crispy so it snaps when you bite it to prevent pulling entire pieces out when you take a bite. Thanks for your time.

Should be going for a crispy light brown where the fat still melts a bit on the tongue.

Or you could hit the sweet point. Eye the flame, and eye the bacon. That's true of quality cooking but a lot of people fuck it up because they never learned patience.
