I worked at a place where our sauce for burgers was mayo, russian dressing, onion powder, lemon juice. it was great with fries and onion rings too. Not too much different from thousand island.

In Iceland fries are always served with "cocktail" sauce, which is mayo and ketchup blend with some other ingredients in various proportions.

2 tbs mayo
1 tbs mustard
half a tbs of olive oil
1 ts of lemon juice
paprica,thyme and oregano
some times I also add thinly cut gerkins too for texture...
