they are. the difference is, into pirozhky you put already pre-cooked meat / meanced meat / any other fillings (fucking thousands of those) and in belyashy you put fresh meat and onions frying em on high temp (this helps creating and keeping ton of juices inside)

Great stuff, I love the fried kind the most. Idk why people shit on russian cuisine when most of it is good, simple stick-to-your ribs comfort food. Even shuba is great, although the idea sounds whack to the american palate

Used to have a russian convenience store next to my house growing up. Everyday after school I'd get the super savory pirozhki, except on fridays when I would get the potato and cheese stuffed one.
