Food labels in America have to be approved by the FDA. Any certifications in them are verified and the liability to print false labeling is one of the biggest for food producers. Food labeling is one of the most tightly regulated things in the country. If an oil has a certification, it is very reliably so. I was being unironic. I keep a small glass jar for pouring and refill as needed. If you're using olive oil primarily as something to cook with? It's oil, it cooks the thing, and does the job economically like pretty much all noname products.

I haven't used it to make any salad dressings but it's acceptable to bake with. There's obviously better oils for very fine subtle notes of flavor that can be brought in with what you're cooking but unless you're a pooftah or regularly dine at Michelin star you probably won't notice.

Bariani, from central california found it at a berkeley farmers market. unfiltered, lots of flavor, well balanced, the person manning the booth did not speak english, only i think italian or spanish, and was about 200 years old. buying your EVOO from an old lady is the best. mail order it. you will be happy. i dont buy it right now cause im a cheap ass shithead, but you can, and you can beat me at my own game.
