FUCK DOORDASH.
The food never arrived and I texted the delivery person "Jairon" and he said the restaurant made the wrong pizza but took it anyways and didnt deliver it to me and said call the restaurant to fix it
I waited 50 minutes for a pizza that never came.

>> No.13934007 [DELETED]

im gay btw, not sure if that matters

While I don't disagree that Doordash is an ersatz deliver service, this is quite possibly the worst time to be delivering food in several decades.

The only delivery services which I would expect to still be consistent are in-house ones, like at Domino's, Papa Johns, etc. And even then, don't be surprised if you catch corona.

I understand Doordash is just 3rd party people driving to places and picking up food to deliver it, but you really cant screw up that bad, you get the food, you go to the address. The only thing I can understand is them getting lost or not delivering the food in an efficient pattern

Used door dash the other day and the diliver person said the food arrived and it didn't. Thankfully got a refund and a 5 dollar credit

Pretty sure your drivers took the food and went home. I know people do that - they'll do like 2-3 legit deliveries, steal food from one, and stop for the day.

Ubereats is notorious for this, fucking cucks. All you have to do is tell Uber that your car broke down or some shit and they'll refund the customer and you get to go home with enough food for a week.

I almost never order out, but if I do I don't trust these fuckhead delivery services.

>> No.13934213

I never have, and never will, use grubhub, door dash, uber eats, or whatever else. I don't even trust the company's own delivery people and do pick-up whenever I can. The only person I know who uses any of these on something resembling a daily basis almost always has the order fucked up when they receive it, and it's a crapshoot if they even get it fixed. Apparently it is really easy to have your account credited for stuff you don't receive, but that's not technically a refund.

I ordered Postmates and it’s hella dumb I didn’t realize my charges were all just “estimated charges” (WTF??) and they go back and add another like $3 or whatever later but they literally cannot explain and have no reasoning why other than to say they can only estimate to the best of their ability what the service fee will be???

I ended up talking to customer service after a 15 minute wait. they re-placed my order and I got it delivered in 20 minutes for no charge.

What pisses me off is that DD didnt tell my my order was fucked up, in fact. they let me believe my delivery was picked up from the place, and the guy drove by my house and marked it as "delivered" and if I didnt call and complain, they would have never told me.

I've had fuck ups with every app except GoPuff and Caviar - I was always refunded to my bank account, was never given store credit.

however, the refund is same day so it's always fucks with my bank account because they act like the money was never spent, ie, pending charge that magically disappears.

Used to work for a local burger chain and Postmates was consistently attempting make orders with us. Just dumb ass drivers would call and actually start off "Hi, I'm so and so from Postmates with an order for.." and then we'd tell them we don't serve Postmates.
The orders were never even made so eventually we were taken off the app and the calls stopped.

Lol that happened to the restaurant I work at. Our chef was furious since it kept making our ticket times insane (doordash orders were ALWAYS giant) and people kept trying to do substitutions that we don't offer.

I was actually going to make a similar comment (sans the low-effort catchphrase) earlier, but there is one clear issue with the restaurants not consenting to this arrangement:
I've got a few restaurants that offer takeout, but also prioritize people dining in (when not in a pandemic), and will stop taking takeout orders if capacity is reached. Unsurprisingly, this is usually around common meal times, when most people would be using these apps.

Since Doordash will happily catalog restaurants without their consent, this leads to a scenario where you will put in orders through Doordash that might be impossible to fulfill (possibly due to other dashers), but where you pay out initially. Or you might make orders with an outdated menu.

Sure, you can be refunded/your dasher can contact you, but this puts the restaurant in the supply/demand/association of a system they did not willingly collaborate with, it puts the dashers in a position where they receive orders that are unfillable, and it puts the end customer in a position where they wait minutes (or even hours) to find out they either get a wrong order or no order at all.

However, I also think doordash isn't breaking any law, should be OK, and most restaurants can cope with it. But there are also clear, negative consequences to the system doordash has created (and other companies, but less egregiously), and is consistently inferior to pick-up delivery if you can be bothered to pick it up.

Yeah, most are good. I've messed up too. Ordered last night and got a message 5 mins later saying it would be roughly 1.5 hours to get my food. After the resturaunt would be closed so I canceled it, but I still got the food and refund.

I wish I had cash to tip them since now they spent time and gas to get here, but I had just lent the last few bucks to my neighbors son.

>Are fast food workers generally angry that they're working during quarantine?
Varies per person, but in general no. Please keep in mind that the people can not be particularly grateful for their job, or loathe it, while also not being particularly at customers. The inverse is also true.

>If I order Chipotle from Doordash what are the chances they take a shit in my food
Infinitesimal. The chances they unintentionally transfer COVID through the surface of the food packaging is nonzero, especially if they feel compelled to work even if they don't feel 100%

>>13939510
Some people dislike most forms of employment for reasons that no one, including themselves, has resolved, yet they continue to work for the benefits of having a cash flow.
I like my job, but I know two people who work in the food industry that hate waking up in the morning. They just hate being effectively broke more.

To put it another way: people usually aren't grateful for being in a state of perpetual cope.

>> No.13940100

I hope they're not. People are pissed they have to file for unemployment and stay at home with no work. Real workers are genuinely afraid that they won't have a job when this thing blows over.

>> No.13942003

I dunno about fast food but most of my friends who work at restaurants doing takeout are feeling mixed. On one hand, they're getting better hours and pay than normal, but everything's going back and forth from painfully slow to busy as fuck. Plus they in theory make more money on unemployment, but a few went back to work (usually under the table) just out of boredom
