1/4 cup warm water, use a thermometer roughly 100°F err on the side of lower.Dissolve the teaspoon of sugar in the warm water 2 teaspoons instant dry yeast (The one that looks like little balls not the one that looks like tiny rice grains) stir them until dissolved. If after ten minutes and you followed this exactly (temprature is key) then its dead. Remember to store your yeast in the fridge after you open the jar/bag.
